Renee is a high achieving student and vice president (09-10) of the honor society Phi Kappa Phi, recipient of the Myra Doherty Memorial Scholarship and Digital Video Group Scholarship, and was named to the Dean’s list each semester. She is an Art History minor and member of the Art History Students Association.
Renee also participated as a volunteer on an Alternative Spring Break trip where she worked with third-grade students as a teacher’s assistant and helped build a school playground in rural Jamaica.
Her relevant coursework at JMU as a SMAD major includes:
- Experience working on a team to develop an advertising campaign for the local Harrisonburg organization, Friendly City Food Co-op, with the goals of raising awareness of the co-op’s existence and increasing membership. The campaign also involved situational analysis, defining audiences, setting objectives, developing communication strategies, and budgeting. One of Renee’s contributions included brochure design.
- Renee excelled in corporate communications/public relations courses emphasizing the strategic planning process and integrated marketing communications.
- Knowledge of media writing such as press and broadcast releases, VNRs, and PSAs.
- Audio and video production skills
- In-depth study of social media and its application for marketing and public relations, with experience maintaining her own blog.

Renee graduated with a 4.0 and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She was also involved with athletics and played on LFCC‘s first season of women’s soccer.

Coursework at Bradley involved a balance of artistic and technological skills. Renee created traditional art pieces and photography, which she integrated into her web and graphic designs. Emphasis on understanding and implementing design principles to create attractive and effective final products.
EXPERIENCE:
- Renee has been employed as a graphic designer and web designer for American Quick Print, Inc. and Weathervane Graphics from 2001-present.
- Ms. Bayliss was pleased to work as a marketing and development intern for the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum in the summer of 2009.
- Renee served as Art Director and Designer of a monthly tourism magazine, Out & About Front Royal, Apr. 2005 – Sept. 2006.
Her computer proficiency includes knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Corel Draw, Quark, Audacity, iMovie, Garageband, Artisteer, Joomla and MS Office on PC or Mac.
